MKCS Scholarships

Beginning in 2021, the Leadership Committee is offering scholarships to help enable wider participation in the annual MK Caregivers Summit. Descriptions and qualifications can be found below. To apply for a scholarship, submit your responses to the application questions to contactMKCS@gmail.com

Application for 2023 are due prior to December 1 and will be announced January 15th.


Timothy Scholarship

Named after Timothy in the New Testament, this is a scholarship intended to cultivate the next generation of MK Caregivers. Two scholarships will be awarded each year. Scholarships are for the registration cost for double occupancy. It is not a cash award and does not include transportation or other expenses.

Qualifications

The Timothy Scholarship will be awarded to up to 2 individuals each year. Qualified applications should generally meet the following criteria:

  • Between the ages of 20-30
  • Intending on working in some capacity with MKs in the next 2 years
  • Profess and demonstrate a Christian faith 
  • Preference will be given for those currently (or recently) enrolled in post-high school education (undergraduate/graduate)
  • Preference will be given for those with financial need



Application
Interested applicants will submit their responses to the following questions using this google application form:

Describe your past experience interacting and working with MKs.
Describe what is prompting you to support and encourage MKs?
What is your vision for working with MKs in the future? What is the timeline? In what specific roles do you see yourself supporting MKs?
Share a brief testimony of your relationship with God making sure to include where you are in your relationship with Him today.
Describe any financial needs (if applicable) that would be prohibitive of you attending the conference.


Global MK Caregivers’ Scholarship

Global MK Caregivers’ Scholarship (GMKCS) was established to help cultivate and support the work of MK care from “Newer Sending Countries.” As countries from Africa, Asia, Central America, and South America increasingly send more cross-cultural workers, the GMKCS scholarship was created to empower and equip their MK caregivers. 

Two types of scholarships will be awarded each year. One recipient will be awarded a double occupancy conference registration. Five applicants will be awarded a virtual conference registration.  It is not a cash award and does not include transportation or other expenses. Awards will be forfeited if not used.

Qualifications

Qualified applications should generally meet the following criteria:

  • On staff of a ministry from Africa, Asia, Central America, or South America that is sending cross-cultural missionaries 
  • Have a full- or part-time position caring for the MKs in their organization (or looking to develop a program for their organization)
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English (or have convenient/affordable access to someone who can translate from English)
  • Profess and demonstrate a Christian faith 



Application
Interested applicants will submit their responses to the following questions using this google application form:

  • Tell us where you are based out of and describe your mission’s organization.
  • How many missionary kids are within your organization? What type of support are you currently providing to them?
  • Do you hope to attend MKCS in person, or are you only intending to attend MKCS online? If in person, do you have the ability to cover your own travel expenses to MKCS?
  • Describe what your vision is for working with MKs in the future.
  • Why would you like to participate in MKCS this year?
  • Share a brief testimony of your relationship with God making sure to include where you are in your relationship with Him today.
